Week 7 - Microblogging
I have had a twitter account for quite awhile, I just didn’t use it much. Friends on the coasts got me looking into this way of communicating. I attended a class that had a survey of students from KU and the outcome was Twitter wasn’t used much in the midwest.
With that in mind I jumped in on this anyway. I found it easy to find people to follow. I had some friends already in place so I went looking for library related blogs. I follow Bill Barnes from the Unshelved site because I need that library humor each day. I also started following google books and nytimesbooks because they give me some insight to what is out there in the world beyond my hometown. I have read their articles and enjoyed following them. I just need to remember to check my twitter account more often.
I haven’t really seen a use for our library with microblogging yet. My patrons aren’t really using this type of techno stuff but I am ready when others come on board.
