Week 6 - Tagging and Social Bookmarking
I chose not to make a Delicious account. My main reason for doing this was to keep things simplified. I didn’t want to open another account for the library. I have been on other people’s accounts and I find them very useful. Chris Rippel shares information through CKLS with his account. I have a small staff in a small library and all the computers are bookmarked the same. If I needed to oversee a large staff and we all worked on many computers or with different log-ins it would be nice to use the Delicious account.
I do use Stumbleupon with Firefox. I do like looking for certain things by using the tags. I have also looked at the google feature but it isn’t advanced as Delicious. Hopefully someday it will be as good and all the library functions can work under one account.
Someday I may choose to open a Delicious account for my personal use but not at this time. Even though I have chosen not to do this I have still learned from this lesson and would tell others about it.
Okay I went back and set up a delicious account. I haven’t used it much but I moved all my bookmarks to it.
